Our Three Pigs Lego Creations

Whoooo is learning about owls?

We have been examining the features of nonfiction and have become owl experts along the way. This week we made owls and shared our owl facts with a green screen video. We loved choosing real owl pictures for our background. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Stem Challenge

After reading the poem Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on the Gate, we took on the STEM challenge of making a gate for our pumpkins. We worked with partners to use different manipulatives for our creations. We kept trying, even when our ideas didn’t work the first time.

Our Habitat Research

HABITAT and ADAPT were new vocabulary words for us this week. We researched online and in books to find out about a variety of habitats. On Thursday we worked in groups to make posters about a particular habitat. On Friday we used our summarizing skills to share our thinking about each habitat. The book Snowballs by Lois Ehlert was a kindergarten favorite. We loved seeing all the neat "junk" that Lois used to create the snow creatures in her book. We, of course, had to give some snow creatures a try as well! We are proud of our awesome snow creatures.

Delightful December
