Class Quilt

We definitely have an expert seamstress within our Beach Buddy family. This week Samantha's  mom brought in the quilt we started last week. It is amazing! You should have heard the "gasps" when it was revealed! The kindergartners love finding their very own drawing among the squares. I know our quilt will get a lot of use the rest of the year. Thank you, Katie....what a special memory keeper for us!

Penguin Facts

Miss Knutson has been helping us learn all about penguins. We began by sharing what we already knew about penguins and then listed questions we still had. With the help of books and online resources, we made a chart showing how our schema grew for penguins. On Friday, we worked with a friend to illustrate and read a penguin fact. We hope you can learn something new as well!

Experts All Around!

We sure learned a lot from our first three experts. We are getting better and better at asking questions as well. I know we will be ready to become experts ourselves very soon! Be sure to scroll all the way down to see the videos at the end.

Gena, Sam's mom, shared her expertise on teaching online and using Skype to interact with her students. We made plans to have her Skype us sometime soon too!

Samantha's mom, Katie, taught us how to sew! Some of us got to press the foot pedal to make the sewing machine work. Mrs. Zuehlke even gave it a try! Earlier in the week we each created a quilt square that Katie is so kindly making into a class quilt. We can't wait to see it! Look for a posting soon.

Mrs. Koets and Kiersten sang us "Puff the Magic Dragon". What a treat...we even requested an encore and it worked!
