We are Leaders!

We have been learning about being a leader in kindergarten.  We decided the best way to discover how to be a leader is to talk to strong leaders in our school. We are ready to give these great new ideas a try!

Our Strong Schema

We have been learning that schema is all the information that sticks in our brain. Each of us have different schema because our experiences are different. We wrote and drew about our schema this week.

Fair Haven Farms 2019

Our trip to Fair Haven Farms was perfect! We enjoyed using our 5 senses to experience the beautiful signs of fall.

Bubbles and Watermelon

During our first days together we enjoyed reading and writing about watermelon and bubbles. We took advantage of some nice days and played with bubbles and ate a watermelon snack outside. Enjoy the video and notice the new friendships developing!

Our yearly Inventions Party is truly kindergarten at its best! Our inventions required creativity,  problem solving, and cooperation...all while having a lot of fun! Aloha! Our trip to Hawaii was the BEST! From the plane ride and island hopping stations to learning the hula and a special beachy snack....it was a perfect kindergarten spring break!

Kindergarten Book Reviews

Habitat Research

HABITAT was a new vocabulary word for us this week. We researched online and in books to find out about a variety of habitats. Then we worked in groups to make posters about a particular habitat. On Friday we used our summarizing skills to share our thinking about each habitat. Check out our thinking in the video below.

Cool Polar Bear Facts

Ms. Pellegrene helped us learn many polar bear facts this week. We read both fiction and nonfiction books and shared the pen to write our learning. We learned how to draw the bears and made a video with some cool polar bear facts. Check it out! 

Readers' Theater Take 1

This week Ms. Pellegrene helped us read a Reader's Theater story about school. We practiced reading with fluency - like in this favorite song you can find here: https://family.gonoodle.com/a/KDc5HT Then we read our parts in front of a green screen to make it look like we were in different parts of the school.

Windblown

In reader' workshop we have been learning that strong readers make mental images while reading. The book Windblown helped us make creative metal images...we share them in the video below.

Snowballs 2019

We loved reading Lois Elhert's book, Snowballs. It helped us think of all the creative supplies we could use to make our snow people. We used cooperation, patience, problem solving, and creativity to make these awesome works of art!
